Greater Venice
Built in 1927, the Historic Venice Train Depot helped transform Venice by connecting the growing city to the rest of the country.
Over the decades, its platforms welcomed Kentucky Military Institute cadets, including local historian and former cadet Larry R. Humes; World War II servicemen; circus performers such as legendary local Boss Clown Chuck Sidlow, better known as ChuckO the All-American Clown; and generations of travelers.
Today, the beautifully preserved depot serves as a museum celebrating Venice’s rich railroad, military, and circus history.
