Incentives & Tax Holidays

Many of the most effective, sustainable improvements come with a hefty price tag. If only there were programs to help bridge the gap between affordability and sustainability.

The state of Florida has been actively working on creating an eco-friendly environment by offering a range of sustainable incentives and tax holidays. These initiatives are designed to benefit the environment, promote green businesses, and improve the quality of life for its residents. Let’s explore these options.

Incentives

Funded by private and government entities, incentives typically offer rebates or tax credits on the purchase of certain goods and services. The DSIRE website is a fantastic resource to find incentives in your area.

Solar

Florida is no stranger to sunshine, and it's taking full advantage of its abundant natural resource. The state offers several incentives to promote solar and renewable energy sources. This helps reduce energy bills and encourages the transition to cleaner energy sources, ultimately reducing carbon emissions.

Green Building Incentives

Green building practices have gained momentum in Florida, with incentives for constructing eco-friendly, energy-efficient buildings. The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) offers certification programs and incentives for builders and developers who incorporate sustainable practices into their construction projects. This includes tax credits and expedited permitting processes, making it easier for builders to go green.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Incentives

With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles, Florida is committed to encouraging their adoption. The state provides various incentives for EV owners, such as reduced registration fees and tax credits for installing EV charging stations. These measures also promote clean transportation and reduce air pollution and dependence on fossil fuels.

Tax Holidays

Florida's sustainable incentives extend to tax holidays, which provide temporary relief from sales taxes for specific products and services. These incentives are limited to a defined period. 2023’s sustainable tax holidays include:
