About the Host

Dr. McQuaig-Ulrich received her Bachelors of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science from the University of Florida in 2003. In 2005, she was awarded her Masters of Science in Microbiology and Cell Science. In 2009, Dr. McQuaig-Ulrich earned her PhD in Biology with a concentration in Ecological and Environmental Microbiology. Shortly after graduating she taught Cell Biology and Biology at the University of South Florida. In the Fall of 2010, Dr. McQuaig-Ulrich began teaching at St. Petersburg College (SPC). She is currently an Associate Professor at SPC and she teaches a diverse array of courses including Biology, Microbiology, Genetics and Immunology.

Dr. McQuaig-Ulrich is an author of several peer-reviewed journal articles and a co-author of a book chapter. She is also the Secretary of the Florida Branch American Society for Microbiology and co-founder of Tampa Bay’s Tiniest Biology Seminar Series.
