Ready to Learn | Grant Awarded to WEDU

WEDU PBS has been awarded a grant to develop a Learning Neighborhood plan that will engage local partners and extend the reach of PBS KIDS early learning resources in the community. We are pleased to announce that we received $10,000 through the CPB-PBS Ready to Learn Initiative, funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

WEDU PBS was one of 24 stations across the country that had the privilege of receiving this grant to help foster a proposal for a "Learning Neighborhood," which will develop a culture of learning at home, in the neighborhood, and within the local school systems.

"WEDU is thrilled to join the Ready To Learn community of PBS stations for this planning opportunity. We look forward to enhancing our work in the Gulf Coast area with what we learn from this collaboration," said Joan Freese, Director of Education.

We are excited to use this grant as an opportunity to continue growing our educational resources, community reach, and programming. As West Central Florida's PBS station, we are committed to providing quality multimedia content to educate, explore, and engage with our audience.
