Spreading Kindness at Arts4All

Meet Teresa Pham, volunteer for Arts4All, a non-profit that provides art opportunities to people with disabilities. This summer, Teresa is spreading kindness at the Animation Gets Real Camp, where teens and young adults on the autism spectrum learn how to create digital animations. 

Teresa is entering her senior year at the University of South Florida, where she studies Psychology. Teresa decided to volunteer at Arts4All, where she could share her knowledge of music and digital animations with others while spreading kindness in the community. She plans to go to graduate school for developmental psychology so that she can continue to give back and help children on the autism spectrum. 

When asked why she wanted to volunteer for the Animation Gets Real Camp, Teresa said, "I really enjoy learning and art, so I like to volunteer and see others have the chance to learn and have art in their life, and also create human connections. Helping others makes me feel nice inside. This camp focuses on digital animation and music; both have had a big impact on my life personally. I like to see that knowledge spread to others, and I like to help them learn a hobby that they also enjoy doing." 

When asked what message she wanted to share with the world, Teresa said, "Kindness and good deeds don't need to be forced. You can follow your path and the things you like to do and make an impact, however small it is. Little things build up over time, and with enough small acts of kindness, we can make a big difference." Teresa embodies this message by sharing her knowledge of music and digital animations with others. 

When asked how she feels about her future, Teresa said, "Right now, I feel very excited to volunteer at this camp. I feel like this will be a good experience to put what I learned in the classroom into a real-world setting, and I am excited to see where this takes me." Teresa showcases that even young people can make a difference through small acts of kindness.
