Al & Laurie Spread Kindness Towards Animals

Meet Al and Laurie Greco, volunteers for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. For the past six years, they have made a difference through their kindness and passion for serving. 

Al and Laurie are considered indispensable for the organization and are willing to do whatever is needed to help the animals. Al and Laurie help with events and adoptions and work directly with shelter dogs for whatever is needed, from cleaning cages to playing and bonding. 

Last year, volunteers gave over 212,000 hours of their time to The Humane Society, equivalent to over 102 full-time employees. Al and Laurie are just two of those volunteers, and their impact goes beyond the number of animals helped. When asked about the couple, one Humane Society employee said, "They have changed many lives, both four-legged and two-legged; they bring so much love and energy into the world. When I see them come to volunteer, it gives a sense of relief because we know if Al and Laurie are in charge of something, we are good, and they bring a big smile to my face." 

Al and Laurie's dedication to helping animals doesn't end when they leave the shelter for the day. They foster animals at home to rehabilitate and help find safe forever homes in their neighborhood. When asked why they donate their time and energy to this cause, the humble couple said, "We retired six years ago and knew we wanted to do something that mattered, so we have been here ever since." 

Al and Laurie are essential to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. They work hard to serve and give back to the community any chance they get.
