Spanish Language Trainer | Tampa, FL

WEDU PBS has an immediate opening for a part-time, contract individual to coordinate and present workshops demonstrating PBS Spanish language educational resources for the preK-grade 2 educators and parents. 

Reports to:  

WEDU Director of Education

Job Type:  

Contract (approximately 15-25 hours per month)

Position Summary:

  • Works with WEDU education staff to create presentations focused on incorporating PBS educational resources into learning environments
  • Coordinates workshop presentations with public and private schools, early learning providers, libraries, home school groups and colleges and universities throughout WEDU’s 11-county educational service area
  • Presents workshops to formal and informal educators and parents of pre-K grade 2 children to support school readiness
  • Secures appropriate workshop evaluation data
  • Provides proofing of Spanish translations of educational and marketing materials as needed.
  • Collaborates with WEDU Education team on educational engagement events.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education and a minimum of three years’ experience in preK-12 education, digital learning, curriculum development or training preferred

 

Desired Skills & Abilities:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Working knowledge of Distance Education platforms and approaches
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with training/teaching adults preferred
  • Familiarity with PBS Kids, Ready To Learn and PBS LearningMedia digital educational resources helpful
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Must have own vehicle with a clean driving record and have proof of auto insurance.  Be willing to travel throughout WEDU’s broadcast region in West Central Florida. Preference given to candidates who reside in Sarasota or Manatee County.

 

Work Location:  

On site in Sarasota, Manatee, and DeSoto counties for in-person trainings and events. Some work might occur in Pinellas, Hillsborough, and Polk counties. Online meetings and trainings can be done remotely.
