Job Summary

WEDU is seeking an organized self-starter who will direct and technical direct WEDU’s local programming content. Content will include local program series and specials, pledge drives, and possible client productions. Duties will involve directing and switching live, and live-to-record productions.

Candidates should have a working knowledge of production switchers, control room graphics equipment and familiarity with current production techniques. Must be capable of multi-tasking, be able to work independently and with a team, and work flexible hours to complete all projects on deadline.

Key Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform professional directing and technical directing functions for multi-camera studio productions.
• Provide guidance to camera operators and technical operations team during the set-up and while in studio production.
• Effective hands-on operation of all technical equipment needed in the control room for studio production.
• Help with the final delivery of recorded content to Operations and Traffic teams with appropriate metadata to support final broadcast.

Functional Duties

Ideal candidates will have experience with Ross Carbonite production switchers and Ross Xpression graphics generators. Additionally, candidates should be experienced with the creation of graphic elements used for studio based and edited projects.
