OBJECTIVE:

WEDU seeks on-camera journalist/public affairs professional to host local programming on a freelance basis. Ideal candidates have 5+ years’ experience in media or journalism and a strong commitment to the editorial standards and ethics of public media.

REPORTS TO:

Executive Producer | Director of Content

DUTIES:

• Must reside in West Central Florida and be available to work weekly in Tampa
• Journalism/Media/Communications degree or equivalent job experience
• Feel at ease on camera hosting/moderating public affairs content in the studio and the field
• Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and interview capabilities
• Exhibit excellent writing and research skills
• Excel in a deadline-driven environment where attention to detail and accuracy is key
• Maintain punctuality, reliability and willingness to work occasional weekend or evening hours
• Proven commitment to unbiased and ethical reporting
