WEDU PBS and The Ringling Host Preview Screening of Antiques Roadshow Episodes Taped in Sarasota

Tampa, FL — Part adventure, part history lesson, ANTIQUES ROADSHOW is PBS’s highest-rated series and several episodes were filmed at Ca’ d’Zan last spring for the program’s 23rd season.

Season 23 will premiere on January 7, 2019 with episodes featuring Ca’ d’Zan airing January 28, February 4, and February 11 on WEDU PBS. For fans of Antiques Roadshow that just can’t wait for the premiere, WEDU PBS and The Ringling will host an advanced screening of the first hour of the Sarasota episodes on January 15, 2019 at the Historic Asolo Theatre located at 5401 Bay Shore Road, Sarasota beginning at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7:00 p.m.

In each episode, some of the country’s leading specialists offer free appraisals of historic antiques and collectibles as the cameras capture tales of family heirlooms and yard-sale bargains. These objects can tell us much about life in the past and often are tied to significant historical events and personalities.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion with Stuart Whitehurst, a seasoned Antiques Roadshow appraiser. Stuart has been touring with Antiques Roadshow since the premiere on PBS. He is an independent appraiser and consultant of antiques and personal property. Stuart has been in the auction industry since 1984, and is a generalist appraiser with extensive knowledge of American, British and European furniture, decorative arts of all types including ceramics and silver, as well as fine art. Stuart has appeared in numerous national and regional television and radio broadcasts, speaking about the world of antiques and collecting.
