About The Vietnam War: Voices from the Bay, WEDU’s Local Documentary

The Vietnam War was a turning point for the United States, the Vietnamese, and the citizens of both countries. For Floridians who participated, protested, or escaped, their memories remain especially clear. “The Vietnam War: Voices from the Bay” focuses on those who fought, those who picketed, and those who escaped to the sunshine state to begin a better life. We’ll hear from home town heroes from the Bay Area who were shot down and others who survived years of combat. Many weren’t welcomed home, and are dealing with the traumatic effects of the war years later. For many, Vietnam was the issue that forced them to take a stand.
