About WEDU’s Town Hall Meeting
During Respite Care: A WEDU Caregiver Town Hall Meeting, approximately 100 community members, professionals and caregivers joined in a live-to-tape discussion to examine respite care needs and issues on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 10am. WEDU will deliver answers, solutions, “best-practices” and resources to questions about respite care in our local community. Program Schedules One week following the airing of the PBS documentary, Caring For Your Parents, on Thursday, June 11th (9-10:30pm), WEDU will air Respite Care: A WEDU Caregiver Town Hall Meeting, on Thursday, June 18 (9-10pm). Then, from 10-10:30pm, WEDU will air Second Opinion: Caregiver Burnout, part of a PBS national public edu, part of a PBS national public education campaign on caregiving. Caregivers struggle with the complexity of the medical system, financial issues and family tension. Yet many caregivers refer to their experience as powerful, positive and uplifting.
