WEDU and Glazer Children’s Museum partner once a month for a fun-filled night of activities, each featuring a different character appearance. Special guests have included Cat in the Hat, Sid the Science Kid, and Clifford the Big Red Dog! Admission is free during the event courtesy of Target.

May 2013: Martha Speaks

Families enjoyed an afternoon with Martha from the popular PBS series Martha Speaks on May 7. WEDU and Glazer Children’s Museum partnered for a day of fun, educational activities and a screening of a great Martha Speaks episode. Plus, Martha dropped by to meet her fans!

April 2013: Curious George

Target Tuesday visitors helped Curious George “Swing Into Spring” on April 2nd. Families made pinwheels and launched Curious George rockets (with the help of a straw) as they learned about the power of the wind. Visitors also enjoyed a screening of the new Curious George “Swing Into Spring” and had the opportunity to meet George himself!

March 2013: Cat in the Hat

The Cat in the Hat was very busy during Read Across American week in early March. The Cat visited the Glazer Children’s Museum’s March 5th Target Tuesdays event and then traveled to Sarasota to help the Early Learning Coalition of Sarasota distribute free books and other goodies to children. Books were provided by a grant request submitted by WEDU and funded through a partnership between PBS and JetBlue Airway’s Soar With Reading initiative. JetBlue employees were on hand at the event to help children with book choices.

February 2013: Clifford

WEDU Kids celebrated Clifford’s big birthday a little bit early! Everyone signed a Clifford-sized birthday card during Target Tuesday on February 5, 2013 at Glazer Children’s Museum.

January 2013: Super WHY!

Children and their families “powered up” with everyone’s favorite super reader, Super WHY on January 8th. Guests also enjoyed a screening of “Super WHY’s Around the World Adventure” along with fun activities and games.

December 2012: Cat in the Hat

Families celebrated the holidays with some of their favorite PBS characters at the Glazer Children’s Museum on December 4th. Guests enjoyed screenings of “The Cat in the Hat Knows A Lot About Christmas” and “Shalom Sesame Chanukah: The Missing Menorah” along with fun activities and games to help kick off the holiday season. Everyone’s favorite Cat in the Hat also dropped by for a visit.

September 2012: Maya & Miguel

Visitors to the Glazer Children’s Museum met everyone’s favorite PBS twins, Maya and Miguel, at the Hispanic Heritage Month kick-off on September 4th. The event, produced through a partnership between WEDU and the Glazer Museum, featured a screening of a Maya and Miguel episode and fun activities for children and families.
