WEDU Promotes STEM Learning through FREE Workshop
DECEMBER 22, 2011 (Tampa, FL) — West Central Florida’s leading PBS station and source for public media, WEDU, will host an Early Childhood Educator Workshop featuring the PBS series “Sid the Science Kid.” The workshop will incorporate a variety of additional PBS educational resources focusing on the early childhood STEM learning environment.
“Sid the Science Kid,” an educational animated television series produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET/Los Angeles for PBS KIDS®, features a practical curriculum using music and humor to promote exploration, discovery and science readiness among preschoolers. The conceptual content of the series is based in national science learning standards, cognitive learning theory, and on the preschool science curriculum, Preschool Pathways to Science©.
The workshop will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the WEDU Studios, 1300 North Boulevard in Tampa.
