Marilyn Harwell of Sarasota joins WEDU’s Board of Directors
TAMPA, FL (February 28, 2013) — The Board of Directors of WEDU, West Central Florida’s primary PBS station, has elected Marilyn Harwell of Sarasota to WEDU’s Board of Directors.
Ms. Harwell holds a BA degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College and served as a publisher of business books in New York City for 20 years. She relocated to Sarasota approximately 25 years ago with her husband, Ned, a Tampa native.
Ms. Harwell currently serves on the Sarasota County Human Services Advisory Committee, and is also a board member of the Independent Transportation Network (ITN) and Reach Out Recovery (ROR).
Beginning in 2004, Ms. Harwell served as a scholarship panelist with the Selby Foundation for 5 years. She also served on the Jewish Family & Children’s Service Board where she focused on publicity, marketing and branding, and was a founding member and treasurer of Forum Truth (2003-10).
