WEDU is pleased to announce our new health news initiative, HealthyState.org. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has provided a grant for Florida Public Media Stations to collaborate around the topics of health, wellness, medicine and health care policy. Lead by WUSF in Tampa, HealthyState.org features health news, information and multimedia from a total of six public media stations in the state including WEDU in Tampa / St. Pete, WMNF in Tampa / St. Pete, WMFE in Orlando, WGCU in Fort Myers and WLRN in Miami. This partnership gives us the opportunity to provide you with the most recent and relevant health news and the knowledge to make healthy decisions in your life.

SMART HEALTH, WEDU’s three-time Emmy award-winning magazine-style medical series, is a part of HealthyState.org – an innovative public media project focused on providing the latest medical and health information available to all Floridians. From game-changing research, to cutting-edge technology and timely information designed to provide insight on issues related to health and wellness, HealthyState.org empowers citizens with the tools and information needed for a healthier life – via PBS television stations, NPR radio outlets and various websites and social media forums throughout the State. Hosted by Angie Moreschi, SMART HEALTH airs on the last Thursday of each month at 9 pm beginning on March 31. Each 30-minute episode features breakthrough advancements in medicine, healthy aging, innovative treatments and personal triumphs — real life stories that provide practical advice, insight and inspiration.
