WEDU, serving the 16 counties of west central Florida, exists to serve the public good and to aid in the creation of an informed citizenry.  Through quality programming using new technologies and community outreach, WEDU fulfills the needs of individuals for education, information, and culture enabling people and communities to connect, to grow, and to lead more fulfilling lives. WEDU educates, informs and enriches lives.

PBS is a private-nonprofit corporation whose members are the 346 noncommercial stations serving the US, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Guam, and American Samoa. Of those stations, 52% are community organizations, 31% are colleges and universities, 11% are state authorities and 6% are local municipal authorities. PBS does not produce programs; PBS distributes programs obtained from member stations such as WEDU, independent producers, and producers and distributors from around the world.
