Biz Kid$ is the fun, fast-paced public television
series where teach kids about money and business. The series features young
real- life entrepreneurs including a skateboard designer, hip-hop music
producer, candy store owner, a handbag designer, podcast host, or a dog groomer,

into profit. Comedy sketches and spoofs of movies make the series a hit with
kids and parents alike. Biz Kid$ also shows how to use credit wisely and
illustrates the importance of saving, budgeting, investing, and giving back to
the community.
At a time when only 10 percent of youth in America are graduating high school with any kind of instruction in personal finance, Biz Kid$ helps kids understand the importance of saving and starting good financial habits early on. In fact, of the many young people who now drop out of college, more than half leave because of bankruptcy -- not bad grades. Five core episodes for the Biz KID$ series will be incorporated in 2009 summer programs provided at area Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA’s, City of Tampa Parks & Recreation, The Centre for Girls, NFL/YET Center Hillsborough County, R Clubs, and Faith Based Organizations. The outreach campaign will provide the opportunity for WEDU to take a leadership role in bringing forward the essential need for our schools to provide economic education to youth in our community. The series is produced by the team from the Emmy award-winning series Bill Nye the Science Guy. Season One of Biz Kid$ (26 episodes) was introduced in January 2008; Season Two (13 new episodes launched in January 2009. America’s current economic crisis underscores not only what our financial institutions must do to strengthen our monetary system, but what individuals and families need to (and can) do to secure their own financial futures including becoming an entrepreneur. Biz Kid$ is produced by Biz Kid$ LLP in association with WXXI Public Broadcasting in Rochester, NY. It is distributed by American Public Television.
