Through the camera lens of
Gigi O'Dea, life and its frailty are portrayed in black and white. Gigi's subjects are fighters... not for title, not for prize, but for every breath and every second. They are little ones born much too early. They are the tiny patients of Sarasota Memorial Hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Nurse Gigi is both caregiver and chronicler of these infants. Gigi's photographs of the NICU babies give parents an image of hope.
Pastor Joe Davis thought he was happy. Leading a church, happily married and raising two teenagers into their college years. Then one day, his life changed forever. His 18-year old daughter Sarah was killed in a car accident while driving to a babysitting job. Davis and his wife were devastated. They've since poured their energy and emotion into a new teen club in Sarasota. Joe's wife Laura admits its helping her heal by being around other teenager girls her late daughter's age, trying to help guide them through the challenges of entering adulthood. Many parents say Joe and Laura have helped their teens from heading down the wrong path. It's a win-win--all out of an abandoned sports bar in Sarasota. Private guest rooms, formal dining for eight, an observation lounge and servants’ quarters. Luxury on line…a railroad line. More than a century after John Ringling ordered his private rail car, it is on display at the Circus Museum on the grounds of Sarasota’s John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
The Wisconsin is the 1905 version of today’s “jet set.” This month’s postcard features beautiful swans.

Venice Youth Boating - They build them, they sail them and they win races with them. Kids and their tiny pram boats are extremely entertaining to watch, but there's so much more to this story.
New Vintage - Brendan Coudal has had several careers… charter captain, sports-fishing columnist and now artist. He started painting marine life, but his most recent project is called ‘new vintage’ and is inspired by all the wonderful illustrators and artists of the mid-century that took us places we had never been before.
Teaching The Peace - On any given day, you might find Nat Colletta teaching at New College in Sarasota, brokering a peace agreement in Rwanda, or meeting with rebel factions in the Philippines. His role as an international negotiator and peace expert has taken him to conflicts all across the globe. Sk8 Skool is a non-profit started by Dan Giguere to incorporate skateboarding into schools, trying to give the kids an outlet so they can compete as a school at the skateboard parks. Jack’s postcard features turtles.
